Eurobike Multi-tool mountain bike “Stashed” in steering pipe
The jacket or hydration kit of a Eurobike Mountain biker’s pockets are often full, so why carry the device inside if one can “unload” it into the bike? This is the concept behind the new multi-tool Stash, which is housed inside the steering duct.
The Stash system, created by Granite Design, consists in fact of two main components: a cylindrical receiver permanently fitted in the steering tube, as well as a multi-tool itself, which slides into and out of it. The total weight of the setup is 145 g.
The ” sub-tools ” built into the multi-tool include fold-out bits 2, 2,5, 3, 4, 5 and 6-mm, T25 Torx and flathead bits and screwdriver key double the core-removal tool of the tire valve. It is claimed that the installation is quick and easy without adjustments to the steering duct.
At the Eurobike 2019 in Germany, the Stash Multi-Tool is currently being presented and should soon be offered for US$ 55. And no, it’s not the first multi-tool steer-tube we saw. Specializing in SWAT’s Conceal Carry Kit and OneUp’s EDC are also different versions. Rugged components have attempted to crowdfund their Dialed Cap in 2017 unsuccessfully.
If you have an interest in putting tools in other areas of the bike, you always have the Mini Bar/Barstow with the handlebar covered, and the All In Multitool with the hollow crank.
Eurobike Mini-Bar / Barstow device upgrades the handlebar with the chain tool
In order to remain sleek and lightweight, most cycling multitools today are free from chain-repair equipment, the Mini-Bar (right) is used for the Barstow Chain Tool (left) Mineral Model VIEW 5 IMAGES. Okay, with their two-part Mini Bar and Barstow device, the Philadelphia based Mineral Design has solved this limitation. The handlebar consists of a pocketable magnet multi-bit lock, combined with a separate chain tool.
The mini-bar, which is 112 grams (4-oz), is a T-shirt welded iron, which is fitted with 1/4 inch hex bits at each of its three ends. As in the Fix-It-Stick replacement version, neodymium magnets keep them in place. Those three bits are stored in a “bit-rack” if not in use with three other bits. Like the bits themselves, neodymium magnets connect this rack to the wrench and are simply torn off whenever needed.
Oh yes, and there’s also a bottle opener built into the Eurobike Mini Bar. A pledge of US$ 45, when and if they are ready to go, will make you Mini Bar and Barstow.

In what otherwise is a traditional extending handlebar plug, the 40-g Barstow Chain Tool has a 15-g (0.5-oz) non-tool plug on the other ends of the bars. It does not rattle against the interior of the windows, when the bike is in motion, to loosen and secure the center retention bolt by removing and replacing the bike with the Mini Bar.
It also has an internal cupboard to store a substitute chain link.
Mineral Design, for its platform at Kickstarter, is currently raising development funds. When and when they’re ready to go, a pledge of US$ 45 will bring you the Mini Bar and Barstow. The device is shown in the video below.
